Free Level 2 EV charging at our Hochatown cabin
Driving an electric car to Broken Bow? Public charging around Hochatown is scarce and not always working. At Hidden Pond Lodge you can plug in at the cabin and wake up to a full battery, free for registered guests, 24/7 during your stay.
The charger
- Wallbox Pulsar Plus, 40 amps, 9.6 kW, Level 2
- Standard J1772 plug with a 25-foot cable. Tesla drivers can use the adapter that comes with the car.
- A 240-volt NEMA 14-50 outlet right next to it, if you prefer your own mobile charging cord
- Adds roughly 28 to 30 miles of range per hour on the owner’s car (your results will vary by car)
- Hardwired and mounted on a post by the wooden fence at the top of the circular gravel driveway, near the entrance
- Behind our private driveway gate, for registered guests only, free of charge
Plan your trip
About 3 hours door to door from Frisco/Plano. Most EVs can make the drive from DFW on one charge or with one fast-charging stop, then recharge fully overnight at the cabin.

While you charge
Fish the 1-acre stocked pond, take the 6-person pedal boat out, soak in the hot tub, or sit on the docks. The cabin sleeps 10 (3 king bedrooms plus a bunk loft, 3.5 baths) and welcomes dogs.
